I just installed it today 11/1/09. I will give it a chance. It did clean up a lot of wires I had. In reading the reviews so far, I wonder if they had a good GROUND or just came home and plugged it in. I know electrical work and I installed all new grounded outlets with good quality material. So if something goes wrong, it will not be due to the installation. I did have a Monster FS MP HTS 200 unit powering a 52" Plasma LP for 3 years and no problem whatsoever. I have now taken that unit and placed it elswhere and have good, clean , grounded power. Have to wait and see, but think positive. Read the directions and check your power. That is That is Electrical 101.

Well I just had a complete power failure last night 10/7/09 in Long Isalnd, NY.I don't know exactly how it protects my equipment. The Power failure happen in two stages. It went out, came back for about 3 seconds and went out again. The power failure was outside the house. But what bather me the most having the Power Center Model HT800 is that the noice that all my equipment connected to it, made a very strange and strong electrostatic sound. It really sounded so bad that I thought my HDTV was fried. It did not happened, but I was under the impressionn that seriuous electrostatic surges should be suppressed by this type of Power Surgers specially given the high price of the component.Moster would make the argument that since no damage happened to my equipment that the Power Surger protected my equipment. The difference of the noice made by my HDTV even when you have it on and unplug it directly from the wall is much difference then the noice it made when the power went off, even though the TV is connected to the appropriate label TV outlet.I guess what I am saying is that I don't understand the reliability of the HT800 of others if severe electrostack power goes through the module on to the components. Specifically the TV.The HT800 has to led lights that tell you if protections is on and if the ground is ok too. Both of these lights are on on my HT800, but it leaves me wonder about how well it protects. No I would not recomended because Moster are so expensive. From now on I will be looking at other brands. Enough of my paying so much money for Monster cables and power surgers.Geo
