these are a fashion accessory more than great headphones. i checked out the beats studio headphones and thought they sounded great, but not for 300.00. so i waited for the release of these solos at [$] -- i figured theyd have similar audio quality.unboxing them, i noticed right away that the cushion that lines the upper headband didnt meet flush w/ the connecting piece (on both sides) and this would be problematic in the future (reading many reviews on the studios, these beats headphones tend to be built poorly) -- i unsnapped the cushion and noticed that there was just too much slack in the material. also, noticed that these shook off my head w/ little effort.i plugged them into my iphone 3gs and flipped thru my playlists. even though they arent noise canceling, the cups suction around your ears blocking most of the outside sounds. from rock to hiphop, the vocal tracks (hi end) just seemed muddy and nothing in the EQ could be done to brighten the quality. this is sort of a bummer because the beats studios werent like this at all.at [$] including taxes, there are just much better alternatives (you can get the same quality from a 40.00 pair of skullcandys); these went straight back to [...]...

The beats sound great with a lot of mid to low bass...I've had mine a couple of days and the left headphone has already broken...It seems they are not supported as good as they look with no screws holding the hinges in...I am very disappointed by this product so far...
