Digital Power Center 900

Protecting Your Digital LifeDon’t Risk Leaving Your Photos, Music, Videos, and Documents Unprotected
Common power surges and spikes can occur several times a day and can easily damage or destroy your delicate digital circuitry in computers and AV components. Even worse, electrical noise and interference can corrupt important data: your digital photos, videos, and critical documents.

PC Clean Power Stage 2Exclusive PC Clean Power Filtering with Advanced Surge Protection
Electrical noise and interference is generated by virtually every electronic device and appliance. Unfortunately, this problem can affect computer performance, causing faulty data transfer, data corruption, and even system lockups in more severe conditions.

Dual Mode PlusThe MDP 900 features PC Clean Power Stage 2 that removes electromagnetic and radio frequency noise to ensure reliable data transfer and reduce wear on delicate digital circuitry.

For advanced protection against powerful surges, Monster® Dual Mode Plus™ sounds an alarm and automatically disconnects, isolating your equipment from dangerous power conditions. Cable modem, DSL, and Ethernet connections can also carry damaging power surges and spikes. To ensure complete protection of your computer and home theater equipment, the MDP 900 also has surge protected coax, network, and phone connections. Limited Connected Equipment Warranty

We’re Monsterously confident about the MDP 900 surge protection, which is why we’ll replace up to $300,000 worth of your equipment if it’s damaged by power conditions.

GreenPowerSave Energy, Save Money
Monster GreenPower™ is a revolutionary new way to automatically reduce energy waste and save you money. Simply plug your computer or AV receiver into the GreenPower Control outlet. When it’s turned off or goes to sleep, the other GreenPower outlets switch off, automatically eliminating energy wasted by connected equipment – like your printer, scanner, HDTV or subwoofer – when you’re not using them. When your computer or AV receiver is turned back on, the GreenPower outlets automatically power up again.

Surge Protected USBConvenient USB Charging
The MDP 900 features two high-current surge protected USB ports for safe, fast charging of MP3 players, digital cameras, cell phones, and other electronics. This frees up USB connections on your computer, and outlets on the PowerCenter™ for your printer, external hard drive, and other peripherals.

PowerLine CommunicationPLC Network Compatible
Powerline Communication, also known as HomePlug®, is a revolutionary home network system that works on your home’s existing electrical wiring. You can easily create a home network access point anywhere there’s a power outlet. Ordinary surge protectors can block PLC, but the Monster MDP 900 is engineered to allow full-speed PLC network communications.

Comments about Monster GreenPower™ Digital PowerCenter™ MDP 900:

I have had this product for quite awhile. I purchased it for the protection, as well as the Green Power feature. When you shut the computer off, the rest of the peripherals shut off automatically. (There are also hot outlets on the power strip for things you need to leave on like the router).

The reason I decided to write the positive review had to do with an experience I had. I have two computers and a single KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) for switching between them. I was having some video problems with one of the computers, so I purchased this EDID Signal Emulator to simulate constant video to the computer when the KVM is switched away from it. The signal emulator needs to be plugged into a USB port for power.

I was fretting over which computer to use for the USB port, because if I rebooted one of them, the emulator would power down and lose it's memory. Then I realized that the Monster power strip has two USB ports on the side. Now I have continuous, clean USB power all of the time for the device.

Pretty cool. Thanks for adding that extra feature Monsters guys. It was a nice surprise that really helped out.

               SAFETY TIPS

Important Monster® Performance and Safety Tips
              Listen Responsibly

To avoid hearing damage, make sure that the volume on your music player is turned down before connecting your headphones. After placing headphones in your ears, gradually turn up the volume until you reach a comfortable listening level.

Noise levels are measured in decibels (dB), exposure to any noise at or above 85 dB can cause gradual hearing loss.

Monitor your use; hearing loss is a function of loudness versus time. The louder it is, the less time you can be exposed to it. The softer it is, the more time you can listen to it. Refer to the chart* below.

This decibel (dB) table compares some common sounds and shows how they rank in potential harm to hearing.
              SoundNoise Level (dB)Effect
              Whisper30Very quiet
Quiet Office50-60Comfortable hearing levels are under 60 dB
Vacuum Cleaner, Hair Dryer70Intrusive; interferes with telephone conversations
Food Blender85-9085 dB is the level at which hearing damage (8 hrs.) begins
Garbage Truck, Cement Mixer100No more than 15 minutes of unprotected exposure recommended for sounds between 90-100 dB
Power Saw, Drill/Jackhammer110Regular exposure to sound over 100 dB of more than 1 minute risks permanent hearing loss
Rock Concerts (varies)110-140Threshold of pain begins around 125dB
"....a typical person can safely listen to an iPod for 4.6 hours per day at 70% volume."
"....knowing the levels one is listening to music at, and for how long is extremely important."
              From http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2006/10/19/music-earphones.html
Get the most out of your equipment and enjoy great audio performance even at safe levels.
Our headphones will allow you to hear more details at lower volume levels than ever before.

              Use Responsibly

Do not use headphones when it's unsafe to do so - while operating a vehicle, crossing streets, or during any activity or in an environment where your full attention to your surroundings is required.

It's dangerous to drive while wearing headphones, and in many places, illegal because it decreases your chances of hearing life-saving sounds outside of your vehicle, such as another car's horn and emergency vehicle sirens.

Please avoid wearing your headphones while driving. Use one of Monster's FM transmitters to listen to your mobile media devices instead.

Learn how to establish a safe listening level and review other important safety guidelines from the Consumer Electronics Association at www.ce.org and the Deafness Research Foundation at www.drf.org.
