 FEATURES

<Designed for Today's High Definition Technology
The Monster Power Blackout High Definition PowerCenter HDP 900 is a bold combination of design, engineering, and convenient functionality. It's designed to give your delicate HDTV and digital AV electronics the advanced surge protection they need. The HDP 900 also features HD Clean Power noise filtration for better performance.

The HDP 900 also has a long, 8ft power cord and FlatProfile Plug so you can easily connect to outlets that are behind furniture. The sleek black case matches the look of your AV components and features color-coded, illuminated graphics on the outlets for easy identification. And it includes four screw holes for optional wall-mounting.

Prevent Thousands of Dollars in Damage to Your Sensitive Home Theater Electronics
Common power surges, spikes and dips can occur multiple times a day and can easily damage or destroy the delicate digital circuitry in your home theater electronics. However, many ordinary surge protectors use only MOVs (Metal Oxide Varistors) with a limited surge absorption capacity, rated in Joules. If a surge's power exceeds the Joule capacity, any connected equipment is left vulnerable to surge damage.

The HDP 900 gives your delicate HDTV and digital AV electronics the advanced protection they need. For a triple layer of safety, the HDP 900 protects against power surges and spikes on all three power lines (line, neutral, ground). With over 3780 Joules of surge absorption capacity, the HDP 900 provides a very high level of protection.

The HDP 900 also features advanced ceramic-encased MOVs for additional safety. Ceramic insulation offers superior fire protection to keep your home theater equipment, and the rest of your home, protected against fires caused by high-power surges.

Monster Tri-ModeProvides Advanced Surge Protection and Safety
For added protection against more powerful surges, patented Monster Tri-Mode circuitry automatically disconnects your AV equipment from dangerous AC power conditions, isolating your components from potential damage. Unlike other surge protectors, only Tri-Mode automatically disconnects both "live" power lines (line and neutral) for complete protection. Tri-Mode also sounds an audible alarm to alert you that your PowerCenter has protected your electronics.

Protection for All of Your Home Theater Connections
All of your home theater's connections need to be protected, or the entire system is vulnerable to damage. Dangerous power surges and spikes can travel through cable, satellite, and telephone lines and severely damage or even destroy your equipment. The HDP 900 features comprehensive surge protection on coax, network, and phone connections for complete satellite, antenna, DVR, and cable TV line protection.

It's a Fact, Electrical Power is Full of Performance Degrading Noise and Interference
Cell phones, TVs, appliances, and other electronics all generate noise and interference that pollute your home's electricity. This "dirty power" can degrade picture and sound performance. Dirty power can also stress the delicate digital circuitry inside HDTVs and other home theater components, potentially shortening their life. However, ordinary surge protectors can't remove the effects of dirty power.

Patented Monster HD Clean Power Stage 1 for Better Picture and Sound
The HDP 900 features advanced Monster Clean Power HD Stage 1 filtration that's precision-engineered to remove the effects of dirty power for better picture and sound. In addition, by minimizing noise and interference, HD Clean Power filtering reduces unnecessary wear to the sensitive digital circuitry in today's high definition home theater components.

More BlackOut Features
The HDP 900 includes many features that make it convenient and easy to install. The 8 AC outlets are illuminated and color-coded with matching labels for power cords to prevent accidentally unplugging the wrong component. The long 8 foot PowerLine 100 Cable easily reaches wall outlets and the FlatProfile Plug lays flat to let furniture hug walls and is angled so it won't block adjacent outlets. The HDP 900 is also wall-mountable for versatile installation options.

 SAFETY TIPS

Important Monster® Performance and Safety Tips
Listen Responsibly

To avoid hearing damage, make sure that the volume on your music player is turned down before connecting your headphones. After placing headphones in your ears, gradually turn up the volume until you reach a comfortable listening level.

Noise levels are measured in decibels (dB), exposure to any noise at or above 85 dB can cause gradual hearing loss.

Monitor your use; hearing loss is a function of loudness versus time. The louder it is, the less time you can be exposed to it. The softer it is, the more time you can listen to it. Refer to the chart* below.

This decibel (dB) table compares some common sounds and shows how they rank in potential harm to hearing.
SoundNoise Level (dB)Effect
Whisper30Very quiet
Quite Office50-60Comfortable hearing levels are under 60 dB
Vacuum Cleaner, Hair Dryer70Intrusive; interferes with telephone conversations
Food Blender85-9085 dB is the level at which hearing damage (8 hrs.) begins
Garbage Truck, Cement Mixer100No more than 15 minutes of unprotected exposure recommended for sounds between 90-100 dB
Power Saw, Drill/Jackhammer110Regular exposure to sound over 100 dB of more than 1 minute risks permanent hearing loss
Rock Concerts (varies)110-140Threshold of pain begins around 125dB
"....a typical person can safely listen to an iPod for 4.6 hours per day at 70% volume."
"....knowing the levels one is listening to music at, and for how long is extremely important."

Get the most out of your equipment and enjoy great audio performance even at safe levels.
Our headphones will allow you to hear more details at lower volume levels than ever before.

Use Responsibly

Do not use headphones when it’s unsafe to do so – while operating a vehicle, crossing streets, or during any activity or in an environment where your full attention to your surroundings is required.

It's dangerous to drive while wearing headphones, and in many places, illegal because it decreases your chances of hearing life-saving sounds outside of your vehicle, such as another car's horn and emergency vehicle sirens.

Please avoid wearing your headphones while driving. Use one of Monster’s FM transmitters to listen to your mobile media devices instead.

Learn how to establish a safe listening level and review other important safety guidelines from the Consumer Electronics Association at www.ce.org and the Deafness Research Foundation at www.drf.org.
