To get started, you just need one additional module -- an Illuminessence Remote Controlled Light Station Dimmer, or Illuminessence Remote Controlled Light and Appliance Switch -- which you plug in at the outlet where the light or appliance is located. By adding more Illuminessence Dimmer or Switch modules you can control more lights and appliances throughout your home from the same IWC600 In-Wall Light Controller. This is Home Lighting Control made easy. You can add a dimmer anywhere you want, without any new wiring. It does much more than an ordinary light dimmer control too -- you've got a "whole home" wireless controller with quick access to 4 scenes (such as home, away, day, night, movie time, etc.). By adding more Illuminessence modules, you can easily and quickly expand to other rooms, and you can add automated timer settings for lighting and appliances such as lawn sprinklers using other Illuminessence Controller modules.

The Illuminessence In-Wall Light Controller IWC600 automatically becomes a "node" in the Illuminessence Monster Control Net wireless home control network, just by hooking it up to standard 120-volt AC power. Utilizing advanced mesh wireless networking technology, in which each node (any Illuminessence module) of the network acts as a repeater to re-transmit signals, the Monster Control Net can provide complete whole-home coverage. Even the largest homes can be reliably remote controlled, from one end of the home to the furthest other end, simply by locating Dimmer, Switch, or Controller units in one or two rooms along the way.

In a whole-home installation, where lights in many rooms are remote controlled, the completely de-centralized Monster Control Net network's wireless signals take multiple, redundant routes to get to the same destination. If one unit is unplugged or becomes disabled, the system automatically "heals" itself and finds alternate routes. And if you add a new module, such as a new Illuminessence Dimmer or Switch to control another light, the wireless network will automatically recognize it and use it to provide a better repeater route to reach other Illuminessence modules already installed.

The power and sophistication of the system is accessed through an extremely convenient "one-touch" setup process for adding new Dimmer and Switch Modules. This instantly copies settings that have already been created for another module to the new one. This is a very powerful feature, as it makes expanding the system much easier.

You may use as many Dimmer and Switch units, and other modules, as you want in a home (up to 256). You can add other Controller units as well, such as a key fob size Pocket Controller, or Tabletop Controller, or A/V Remote Controller.
