Las Vegas, NV – January 7, 2009, Monster, the world’s leading manufacturer of audio and video connectivity solutions, will be showcasing its “Wireless Digital Express HD” solution for wireless HDMI™ whole home entertainment distribution at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show. Powered by Sigma Designs’ Wireless HDAV™ for High-Definition (HD) A/V cable replacement as well as its UWB-over-Coax technology, Monster customers will soon have an elegant “wireless and no new wires” combination solution for enjoying HD content throughout the home.
The Revolutionary Whole Home Distribution Products will make whole home High Definition AV Distribution a reality for every HDTV Consumer. Whereas tradition methods of AV Distribution required invasive wiring, high level integration, Monster’s Wireless Digital Express HD makes distribution and control as simple as connecting an AV Receiver.
Wireless Digital Express HD consists of two products, a transmitter (DX WHD TX1) and a receiver (DX WHD RX1) and is slated to arrive as a Monster WIRELESS product in 2009. It joins the MONSTER WIRELESS PowerNet™200 (DX PLN200), which delivers high speed network and internet connectivity to computer and AV components through a home's existing electrical wiring.
The new “Monster® Wireless Digital Express HD” system offers consumers and professional installers a "no new wires” combination solution in addition to letting users stream and control HD video content with full 1080p resolution between their HDTV displays, DVD players (including Blu-ray™), and/or set-top boxes within a room (or to an adjacent room), Monster’s Wireless Digital Express HD system will allow room-to-room HD entertainment streaming, transmitting AV contents up to 330 ft. over a home’s existing coaxial cables.

With the demand for wireless capability on wall mounted Flat Panel televisions, Digital Express HD will feature an accessory RX-1 receiver mount for easy installation on any of the Monster Flat Panel Mounts. Understanding the consumer needs for “floating” flat panel displays, Monster’s Wireless Digital Express HD fulfills the mission of integrating lossless 1080p to any wall mounted display.

Monster’s Wireless Digital Express HD product includes transmitter and receiver elements inside box equipment that encodes older video formats to 1080p HDMI, can upscale all inputs to 1080p format, and offers in-room and adjacent room wireless connectivity, and 330 ft. plus range of coax connectivity room-to-room. In addition, the product offers a fully integrated Infrared (IR) distribution solution as well as inputs for two HDMI ports, two component, one composite video/S-video with audio, coax digital, optical digital with outputs of coax digital, optical digital F-connector for coax, 3 IR emitters and a serial communication input. The input switching is IR controlled for advanced whole home control capability. The Wireless Digital Express HD can be software updated through its included USB port. For optimized video and performance, the RX1 Receiver can also set its incoming UWB over Coax or wireless signal to the connected display's native resolution.
The DX WHD TX1 and DX WHD RX1 has and MSRP of $999 for the pair and $499 each.
