Hiram Bullock has the reputation of being a "guitarist's guitarist," a pyrotechnician who can play all kinds of music, from the blues to speed-metal to the fusion-funk for which he's best known. On stage, Bullock enlivens shows with friendly mugging, virtuoso technique, and undeniable enthusiasm, as anyone can attest who has caught his long-time television gig as guitarist in the studio band going into and coming out of commercials on the Late Show with David Letterman. From the inception of the show until 1984, he was a regular member of the World' Most Dangerous Band, led by Paul Shaffer. Bulloock's ther television work includes being a member of the house band on Saturday Night Live.
Hiram has made 10 solo albums, and as an in-demand session player, has recorded or played live with for The Brecker Brothers, David Sanborn, Paul Simon, Chaka Khan, Pete Townsend, Bob James, Sting, James Brown, Miles Davis, Kenny Loggins, Billy Joel, Barbra Streisand, Burt Bacharach, Roberta Flack, Spyro Gyra, Eric Clapton, Al Green, James Taylor, Steely Dan, and Phyllis Hyman.
