Breaking news: Monster has Partnered with Yao Ming to Launch a unique new line of "Yao Monster" electronics & lifestyle products in China!
The Yao Monster products, due out later this year, will include high performance headphones, lifestyle bags and performance glasses as well as home theater connectivity and power pro...ducts, offering consumers in China a unique "fusion of technology and life".
Monster in China for the Announcement of Yao Monster
Head Monster, Noel Lee and the Monster team headed to China to join NBA and international basketball superstar Yao Ming to announce the launch of their collaboration, Yao Monster. The Yao Monster line will be sold exclusively to the Chinese market and feature everything from high performance cables to headphones. Though Monster has been selling products in China for 20 years, the Yao Monster line is seen as complete re-launch in the sky rocketing Chinese market.
Before the Press Conference
Several NBA stars (obviously fans of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones!), including Steve Nash and Barron Davis, were on hand to play a charity game against the Chinese national team. The proceeds will go to the Yao Ming Foundation, which will be donating the funds to Project Hope in China, benefiting children in rural China.
The Monster team was invited to a pre-game reception dinner, where Noel presented the players with a selection of Yao Monster products.
The Launch Announcement Press Conference
Press and dealers converged from all over the globe to see the announcement of the exciting new Yao Monster line.
The conference began with DCH President Alex Yang speaking to the crowd. Noel then took the stage and wowed the crowd with the story of Monster. Noel's extremely proud mom even recorded a special video for the crowd, in which she talked about her journey from China to San Francisco and revealed how much her Chinese culture means to her.
Then the larger than life Yao Ming, himself, entered the building. Together he and Noel talked about the partnership between Yao and Monster and the fusion technology and fashion that it represents. They then presented the new products to the crowd and spoke more about their excitement about the new line. The presentation was followed by a Q and A with the attendees.
