Misisipi Mike Wolf is a singer/songwriter whose songs have been featured on hit TV shows like "True Blood" (HBO), "Justified" (FX) and "Big Love" (Showtime), network TV in the US and Canada, NPR, and independent radio around the world. He has toured in the US, Canada and Europe many times and performs up to 150 live shows in a calendar year. Misisipi Mike Wolf was voted "Best Singer/Songwriter' of 2011 on the San Francisco Bay Guardian readers poll.
Tony Tyrone Sales comes from a long line of performers, including the internationally acclaimed TV personality, Soupy Sales, on his father’s side and one of the original leading men in films, Tyrone Power, on his mother’s side. But it was the musical influence of his father, Tony Sales that inspired him to pursue a career in music. While the Sales Brothers were touring with David Bowie in Tin Machine, Tony commenced on his own musical journey, practicing on a kit he received for his tenth birthday. He's been playing ever since.
The brain child of Tony Sales and Mike Wolf, The Ardent Sons began as a shared love of 60's R&B and Soul by the likes of Joe Tex, Sam and Dave, The Staple Singers and Little Richard. Sales and Wolf recruited Kevin White (Chuck Prophet), and Dave Flores (Midnight Gamblers), and together they found a sound as much rooted in the grind of the MC5 as in the voodoo of Dr. John, a line that connects the legacy of Stax and Muscle Shoals to the blue eyed R&B of the Small Faces and The Box Tops. Its a fresh sound for fresh people. So, get ready.
